This book offers 22 practical lessons to guide children in the primary grades in learning and using a simplified approach to Creative Problem Solving. The activities help children learn to identify real problems, challenges, and opportunities; generate ideas; and take action to solve problems creatively. Over 50 Instant Challenges, Improvs and Team Treats!  This little book was written and published by the British Columbia Affiliate of Destination ImagiNation!  It was created by a dedicated group of individuals so that youth around the would could challenge themselves while having fun!  A variety of all types of Instant Challenges included in this book as well as Individual Craniums which are great for warming up the brain!  These challenge are just ideas to be used as jumping off places for creativity.  Also included are recipes for Team Treats, Improv Games and Jump Rope Rhymes!

Choosing & Charting

Choosing & Charting guides students step-by-step through a quest for knowledge and understanding on a topic that they find engaging and personally relevant.  While Choosing & Charting is designed for students to use independently, it also includes teacher guidelines, forms to help teachers assess and understand students' interests and learning styles, and a certificate of completion to present to students when they have finished an independent project.  This great resource was written by DI Training Facilitator, Lindy Redmond.

Colorado DI  Instant Challenge Kit (6th Edition)

This kit is designed to give you and your team a chance to practice the different kinds of Instant Challenges that may be encountered in a competition.  The writers of this kit are Instant Challenge trainers but are not involved in writing of the actual challenge that will be presented in competitions.  The Challenges included are only an approximation of the format that will be used at sanctioned tournaments.  Included in the Kit are 8 Warm-up Activities, 8 Primary Challenges, 8 Performance Challenges, 8 Task-based Challenges, and 8 Combination Challenges.
